This is me:

My name is Elke, and I have worked in Communications, Events organisations and Promotions for the past 35 years.
It all started when I wanted to hear a Scottish band again, back in 1988.... the only way to arrange this and get the band back to my home town was to organise a festival around them. Since then I worked for the Australian Government, promoting Australian arts and culture in Germany/Europe; set up my own media consultancy, helping to promote the musical Saturday Night Fever in Cologne plus many other performances like Stomp and Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake; worked as a travel journalist; wrote three books (all published in Germany); in the UK I spent some time in the press office of a local government (I just say: potholes and streetlights....) and worked in Marketing & Communication in the Vocational Training part of a College. 

Over the past 10 years I have built up a large and engaged online community in the area where I live. Without much effort we are reaching a quarter million people each month across all platforms.
